Chalcedony consists of microscopic crystals of quartz, so small that they can only be seen under the microscope! Most folks have heard the term “agate” thrown around quite a bit, an agate is a specific form of chalcedony that has parallel banding. 

 

This variety of Purple Chalcedony is mined in Indonesia and often ranges from a dark violet coloring to a softer lavender. It can also exhibit some STUNNING cloud like formations!
